What’s the difference between Clarity 5K and other Clarity Monitors?

Clarity 5K Touch is unique among the Clarity range for having a 5K UHD (5120x2880) screen, which has 33% more virtual screenspace than the 4K UHD (3840x2160) screens of the 27” Clarity, Clarity Pro, Clarity Pro Touch and 32” Clarity Max, Clarity Max Pro and Clarity Max Touch.Like Clarity Pro Touch and Clarity Max Touch, Clarity 5K Touch features a 10-point touchscreen that supports MPP2.0 active styluses and multitouch gestures on Mac and Windows.However, unlike Pro Touch and Max Touch,Clarity 5K Touch does not have a webcam.

Does Clarity 5K Touch have a webcam?

No, Clarity 5K Touch does not have any kind of webcam. If you require a monitor mounted webcam, we recommend picking up anIlluminate Light Bar, which has a 12MP (4K) autofocusing webcam.

Should I connect using USB-C, DisplayPort or HDMI?

As long as your computer supports video over USB-C (or has Thunderbolt 3 or 4), we recommend using USB-C to connect to Clarity 5K Touch – you’ll have access to its touchscreen, laptop charging and USB-C all over the same cable that’s transmitting 5K video at a smooth 60Hz.

If your computer does not support USB-C DP Alt Mode or Thunderbolt 3 / 4, we recommend using DisplayPort, as this has enough bandwidth for smooth 60Hz 5K video.

We do not recommend using HDMI to connect to Clarity 5K, as the monitor’s HDMI 2.0 ports do not have enough bandwidth to deliver smooth 60Hz video.

Does Clarity 5K Touch support VESA Mounting?

Yes, Clarity 5K Touch supports 100x100mm VESA mounts and includes compatible mounting screws.
It’s important to check your monitor stand will support Clarity Max to avoid damaging your monitor.
Clarity 5K Touch is 27”, weighs 4.8kg without the stand and measures 623.8*48.3*372.2mm (LxDxH).

Which kinds of stylus can I use with Clarity Touch?

Clarity Touch is compatible with Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP) 2.0 Styluses – such as our Clarity Active Stylus (Product Code: ALASS2)

Does Clarity Touch support tilt and pressure sensitivity?

Yes – when used with a compatible with Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP) 2.0 Styluses – such as our ALASS Clarity Acitve Stylus

(macOS) I can’t get touch gestures, or a stylus to work!

To unlock the full capabilities of Clarity for Mac, you need to install ourClarity Touch macOS drivers.

(Windows 10/11) My touch input is controlling the wrong screen!

Sometimes, Clarity Max Touch’s input will be applied by your computer to another display instead of Max Touch.

Moving your mouse onto Clarity before using the touchscreen usually resolves this issue.

Solution - Windows If you’re using Windows 10 or 11 with multiple displays you can specify which monitor you want touch input to apply to, which saves you having to mouse over to that display before using touch.

To do this, launch Control Panel, click “Hardware and Sound” then ‘Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input’ from the menu.

When I wake my computer from sleep mode, Clarity doesn’t come back on.

In some cases, it’s possible for Clarity not to recognize the wake-up signal from a connected computer. This issue occurs most often when Clarity is connected to a computer through a dock.

To resolve the issue, restart Clarity by pressing the power button twice – it should recognize the connected device as part of its boot-up sequence.
If this issue persists, we recommend trying the following steps to isolate the issue:

• Connect Clarity directly to your computer
• Try connecting with a different cable or port. ie. Use DisplayPort instead of USB-
• Update your computer’s operating system.

My video is not smooth when connected over HDMI.

Clarity’s HDMI ports do not have the bandwidth to support a 5K video signal 60Hz, only the less responsive 30Hz.

For smoother video, we recommend connecting via USB-C or DisplayPort.

How accurate are Clarity 5K’s Colours?

Clarity 5K has quite accurate colours with 100% coverage in the key gamuts.

Although each monitor varies slightly, below are the average colour accuracy stats for Clarity 5K Touch.
sRGB: 100%
Adobe RGB: 99%
DCI-P3: 99%
NTSC: 99%

How can I calibrate Clarity?

Clarity comes with several factory calibrated colour temperatures and video modes.If you wish to further calibrate your monitor, you will need to use a third-part calibration tool, such as a Calibrite/Sypder.

Does Clarity Max support HDR?

Yes, Clarity, Clarity Pro and Clarity Max Touch all support HDR 400.

Does Clarity support automatic source switching?

No. While Clarity will automatically switch to the only active source, it can’t switch between two active video inputs based on which has current activity with an external switcher, like a KVM.
